Physical Therapy Services

We know that injury, surgery and illness are already disruptive to your life, and we try to make your visits efficient, effective and often entertaining.

Pre and Post Surgery Care

Physical therapy is standard after surgery, helping restore strength, comfort and mobility. Working with a physical therapist before these and other surgeries can vastly improve your strength, education and confidence going into such a major procedure. In turn, these “prehabilitation” efforts can improve the speed, success and cost of your rehabilitation experience post-surgery, getting you back to doing the things you love—free of pain.

Foot Health and Orthotics

Those who experience pain in their backs, hips or knees while walking, running, working or exercising may find the cause of their discomfort resides much lower in their bodies—perhaps in their feet. Fortunately, a physical therapist is an ideal guide for ensuring your feet optimally support the rest of your body, preventing discomfort, pain and injury. As a certified movement expert, a physical therapist is able to analyze a person’s foot type and gait, then suggest footwear and/or orthotics specifically designed for the optimal performance of one’s feet.

Sports Rehabilitation

Whether you’re a competitive athlete or a weekend warrior, soreness, pain and injury can quickly derail your efforts to reach your fullest potential. So when sports injuries happen, your goal is to heal quickly, safely, and get back to the top of your game with an eye toward preventing future injuries. That’s our goal, as well, at Body In Balance Physical Therapy.

Balance and Fall Prevention

With more than a third of all U.S. adults 65 and older experiencing a fall each year, with up to 30 percent suffering moderate to severe injuries (according to the CDC), it’s imperative that seniors and those approaching their golden years take balance issues seriously. And physical therapy can help.

Falls due to balance issues can be caused by a number of factors, including weakness, joint stiffness and pain, inner ear problems, the lack of consistent exercise, or simply issues related to aging. Several medical conditions such as arthritis, stroke, MS, and Parkinson’s disease can also increase the chances of a fall. Whatever your background, our physical therapists will assess the cause of your balance issues and provide an individualized program with an eye toward strengthening and stabilizing your body.

Aquatic Therapy

Water provides a safe and effective treatment environment for movement and exercise during the rehabilitation process for spine pain, athletic injury, post-surgical recovery, osteoarthritis, and balance issues. Thanks to Body in Balance’s Aquatic Therapy program, clients can realize the benefits of such water-based treatments, which serve as an additional tool for recovery during the rehabilitation process.

Women’s Health

Are you pregnant and suffering through back and hip pain? Do you “leak” when you sneeze? Has intercourse become painful? Our women’s health program addresses musculoskeletal issues that are unique to women. We provide proactive treatments and improve function, decrease pain, and empowers women to achieve their fullest potential.
